| Leather
Cradle Board made in butter soft chocolate brown genuine
leather. This cradle board measures approx. 12 inches
across & about 24 inches in length. It's decorated
with brass studs & cones, beads, bone & glass,
abalone disks, feathers & a medicine wheel. The cradle
board was not only practical & convenient for the
Mother, but a symbol of her love for her child.

| This painted hide depicts a night scene
outside a sweat lodge. The fire is burning, and the water
bucket by the edge of the lodge is there to pour water over
the hot rocks inside the lodge. There is a peace pipe on the
alter, & a staff marks the entrance. Even the cover that sits
over the doorway is depicted in
this painting. Once the rocks are hot and are moved into the
sweat lodge and the water is poured over them to create the
steam, then the cover is rolled down over the doorway to keep
the heat inside. The Sweat is a ritualistic cleansing ceremony
for many tribes. This painting is by Bear Romero,

painted
deer hide is mounted on bent wood. It is a fight scene
between the Pawnee and the Sioux were
known to be some of the fiercest fighters and in this
scene they stake themselves to the ground and fight to the
death against their enemies. These men could only be
released from their hold to the earth by one of their
Sioux brothers. Accent
your walls & home decor with this beautiful painted
hide by Native American artist Bear Romero of the Cherokee
people.

old dear skin pipe bag is expertly decorated with glass
seed bead beadwork in the traditional lazy stitch,
possibly Cheyenne beading pattern. The bottom of the bag has
brass cones which jingle. It is a wonderful
old piece by an unknown artist & although not
officially dated, you can tell this bag is packing some
age. |
