Navajo Red Clay Pot with Elk–Traditional Storage Vessel by Marshalene Bennett
This classic shape is a standard for the Native American Navajo potter and is highlighted with an elk. The elk is recognized as having great stamina among animals and can thus outdistance others who consider him prey. A great example of Navajo red clay etched pottery. This pot is NOT glazed inside and cannot hold liquid. This pot measures 5.5 inches tall x 4 inches in diameter.
This Navajo pottery is authenticated by the artist’s signature on the bottom of the pot.
