PAINTED BUFFALO JAWBONE

This genuine buffalo jawbone has been professionally cleaned & prepared, although still in it's natural coloring. The artist has covered the front end with leather & fringe with glass crow beads, pin feathers & horse hair. Then, he has painted both sides of the jawbone with a hieroglyph style mountains on both sides & then 2 different styles of medicine wheel & then many spots. I think Gary likes spots. Gary calls this one, "BUFFALO MEDICINE". 

The artist, Gary Redwing Hunt, is not an enrolled tribal member of the Cherokee or Sioux nations, but is descendant of each. Therefore, no legal claim of Native American authenticity may be claimed. But his native spirit is evident in the quality & style of his work.
