Dance sticks like this one were used in dance by Native Americans to pay tribute to a fallen horse. The feathers represent their connection to the Great Mystery while carrying up their prayers. The colored glass beads represent family or clan. The colored strips of felt were the warrior's colors. Traditionally, the warrior would use the fallen horses hair from the mane or tail to attach to the dance stick. However, no horses were harmed in the making of this dance stick. This stick measures 17" in length.
