Native American Ceramic Horsehair Pottery - Warrior and Eagle
In this horsehair piece, this warrior is an eagle keeper. Native American tribes often kept eagles who were found injured & nursed them back to health & kept them in their loving & protective care as a messenger of the Great Spirit. The tribe was considered blessed when they had an eagle. There was a steady supply of eagle feathers which were used not only for decorations, but as rewards for dangerous or brave tasks by warriors. This piece stands 16" tall. Pictures are representative.
