CHEROKEE PRAYER & SMUDGE FAN

This Smudge or Prayer Fan is handmade by a Cherokee artist, Wetfoot. It features barred turkey feathers with leather wrapped handle and braded beading is unique to him and the sacred path he walks. Smudge fans are used to fan the smoke from sweet grass or sage for purification purposes before ceremonies. This fan measures about 18 inches in length.
