| This is
a Hopi Payback Basket. Baskets are often distributed
through ceremonial events. A bride traditionally gives her
groom a wedding basket which years later will be buried
with him to carry him into the afterlife. She also may
spend years weaving and distributing baskets to repay all
relatives and friends who assisted with wedding
preparations. When no payback is expected, the baskets are
often sold to shops & tourists. 11"
diameter. Certificate
of Authenticity Included.
